Psalms 10 questions that God is far off somewhere doing his own thing. This notion of thought frees one’s mind to live as one pleases without much conviction of sinning against a Holy God.

Jim, do you think it is easier to think that way because often those sins are so much easier to want? Do you suppose it is because those temptations/sins are easier because we can see them? I’m not saying that we can’t see God, because he shows himself all around us, but it’s like when a mountain is in front of us. It is stunning, but after awhile we don’t see it. Those temptations are new and continual and calling and easy.
Psalm 10
Yes, I think that makes so much sense. We see something concrete right in front of us and it feels so immediate and reachable.
Psalm 11
I think this Psalm is so helpful as we experience what feels like God’s apathy as evil triumphs in our lives, yet the Psalmist reminds us that ultimately God is there with us and will bring great joy to those who follow Him. We don’t get an immediate solution, but we get hope that God is with us as we wait.

Tamara, that was some great questions that got me thinking. I see so many people around me that seem to have no concern about their relationship with God. I suppose we all have a lifelong sin issue that we always have to deal with in our lives.

Psalms 11:1-3. I am glad we don’t have to worry about our earthly Christian foundations being destroyed by the enemy; with Christ being our firm foundation built inside us, who do we have to fear. It’s some time discoursing when they shoot us down and make a mockery of our faith.
