God often calls us to be faithful as we wait for what He is doing next. What does that look like?
Thanksgiving takes planning, or you’ll fill the plate and miss the pie you were waiting for. Advent works the same way. The Gospel of Mark skips the manger and the angels and jumps right to the one the Gospels proclaim: Jesus. Do we get caught up in the details or get to Him in our own preparations?
Do we understand just how much forgiveness we need? Do we understand truly the only place we can find it?
Do we just want to replace the most obviously broken parts of our life or are we willing to have God completely renew us?
Conventional wisdom leads to conventional failure, but Jesus calls us to set our sights heavenward and experience God’s salvation.
Nicodemus came to Jesus wanting to sample His take on God’s Law. Jesus calls both Nicodemus and us to something more.
We aren’t called to hold the goodness of God in, but to spread holiness by loving those around us. Even our enemies.
We think “rights” will make things right, but how does that fit being a follower of the One who gave up His rights?
Why does Jesus go into oaths? Does it have any point in our average, everyday life?
Are we battling the sins that happen in our minds? Or do we try to set them on a shelf to revisit at a future time?
